“Crystals in Nature” by Sophia.  For Sophia, a crystal is a piece of art that grows in the beauty of nature.  She shows us that minerals are simply beautiful to her.

Ruby in Zoisite by Jackie.  Jackie emphasized the bright colors of these two minerals.

Fluorite by Jasmine.  Jasmine focused on the purple color of the fluorite crystals and the roughness of the matrix.

Sandstone by Mackenzie.  Mackenzie has done a fine job showing the layers of sand in this sandstone specimen.

Mineral Artists from the Albuquerque Gem & Mineral Club Juniors’ Program

      The Mini Miners were challenged to draw “Crazy Crystals.”  In other words, could they create combinations and ideas about minerals that really don’t occur in nature but are really colorful and interesting.  This is what they created!
